Vinegar Bitters

I love kitchen medicine ❤️👩‍🍳

So when I saw this vinegar bitters recipe on @rosaleedelaforet website “herbalremediesadvice.org” I knew immediately I had to make it!

Vinegar bitters combines the power of digestive bitters (that promotes a healthy digestion) with apple cider vinegar (helps lower blood sugar spike).

If you follow me on socials then you know my love for herbal bitters. The bitter flavor sends a signal to your body to start producing digestive enzymes and HCI to better digest your food.

Vinegar, like apple cider vinegar, is incredible at flattening a glucose spike after a carb-heavy meal. This is incredibly helpful for those who have insulin resistance.

When taken before a high carb meal, vinegar slows the rate of stomach emptying and prevents large blood sugar spikes. You only need about 1 tbsp of vinegar to do the trick.

A study was done on women with PCOS who drank apple cider vinegar with water every day after dinner found improved hormone levels and experienced more regular periods.

Ingredients:
- 1 cup chopped organic strawberries 🍓 (fresh or frozen)
- 1/4 cup dried chamomile flowers
- 1/4 cup dried dandelion root
- 1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp honey 🍯

Combine everything in a pint mason jar + stir well!
Make sure the herbs are covered (add more vinegar if not).

Cover with a glass or plastic lid. If you only have a metal lid then add wax paper in between like I did.

Label and shake 1-2 times per day. After a couple of days, check and add more vinegar if needed. Once the flavors have infused to your liking then strain the herbs 🌿

Store in a dark bottle in the fridge. I like to add it it a tincture bottle.

Hope you enjoy and benefit from such an incredible + affordable recipe!
